Natàlia Munõz

Natàlia Munõz is a 27 years old PhD candidate living in Barcelona, Spain. 

She started shooting film about 2 years ago, when she received her first analog camera, a Minolta X-700. That was the first time she had ever tried film. 

 “I remembered those film rolls and analog cameras from my parents when I was a kid, but I didn't remember at all how everything worked. It was a new and very exciting experience, shooting the roll and not knowing the results until you have it developed is the surprise factor that I love about film. Moreover, I love the texture, the grain and the personality you can find in different films. This is something you cannot achieve with digital.” 

 Although Natàlia lives in the city, her hometown is a small village located in the heart of Catalonia (Spain), where there are a lot of fields and she grew up surrounded by nature and animals. Therefore, though she enjoys shooting every kind of topic (everything that produces an emotion or a feeling) Natàlia has a special connection when shooting landscapes and nature in general. It makes her feel relaxed, calm, in peace with herself, like a connection between her and the universe. 

 “I can say that shooting now is my therapy, I don't consider myself as a photographer but someone who is using photography as a therapy to escape from the daily stress and pressure I suffer at work. This world has a fast pace and film helps me to slow down and relax, to forget about my worries and focus on the beauty I have around me”.
